@thecarsrock most talented? How could you compare them they play different instruments. He did write most of the songs though if that’s what you mean.

The Cars came along in ’78 and gave rock a much needed kick in the ass and said LET’S GO!

@ambermum Very well said, loved Ben Orr’s vocals -he was able to sing heavy…creepy, or beautifully melodic.
His vocals to me are what made this band great, of course the rest of them are all top notch musicians with the possible exception of ric

Dig the Dean guitars…they were probably given to them for advertising on the show.
God blessed us with the cars!

The Cars sound more rocked out LIVE. The recorded music is a little poppy and “produced”. One of the greatest live bands ever….todays bands could learn much from these fellas.

I hope “Glee” doesn’t cover this song. Bad enough they had to kill a lot of my favourite songs, but I won’t have them cover this song! If it happens, those “Glee” kids should be shot. :p

Wayneman117, Ric wrote most of The Cars’ songs. On songs that required a great voice, a great range, or a great ability to sing, he handed the baton to Ben Orr. Ben passed away in 2000 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 53.
