An extensive formula for speed seduction and relationship dynamics. Covers social marketing, persuasion and influence, creating value/scarcity, building emotional connections, personality behavioral analysis, targeted role-playing, projecting charisma/presence, body language, timing, and much more.
For those who’ve take self-improvement/business marketing, this will be a nice refresher course with some added insights. In summation, you’ll learn how to create a more attractive you, how to crack barriers and build a warm rapport, how to observe and predict behavior, and subconsciously connect more in conversation.
I`d actually classify this book as far more than the typical nightclub pickup guide. It goes way beyond that, more into the post hookup and relationship level. It’s an introspective psychology tool for identifying the right personality match, maintaining healthy interaction, as well as a guide for recognizing problem situations early and avoiding getting trapped. Whether single, engaged or married, anyone can benefit from the advice.
Tate clearly wrote this for the lifetime bachelor. If you are in the back of your mind considering marriage, section two covers setting up asset shelters. It covers all the different formulas available; concise, but somewhat complex asset protection tutorials. As a small business owner, I set mine up a few years back and am very familiar with the process and terminology. I had my attorney skim through the pages to see if I needed to add any additional provisions that Tate proposes, but came out fine. For real estate investors, of importance, pg. 232 references an important change – see the Albright 291 bankruptcy Rptr 538 ruling. LLC’s need to be multi-member from now on.
Tate’s main theme for this section is to highly encourage men to set up shelters even before engagement, as a self-defense shield against the potential of a girl marrying money with the intent to divorce in a few years. I must say the concept is brilliant. Divorce rate is 50%+, so the advice is invaluable. Best offense is a good defense.
The last 60 pages are a bachelor’s guide to vacationing in Rio de Janeiro, Costa Rica, and Thailand. Heavy on details from logistics, tourism advice, sports options(extreme sports, golf, fishing, etc); the best beaches, hotels, as well as pointing you to all the night clubs and easy hookup chica hotspots that hotel concierge’s are clueless about. I’ve been to Brazil and Costa Rica before, and can vouch the advice is spot on. If you haven’t been to Rio, it’s a must! A fascinating section to read, and definitely a point-and-click time savor for the best itinerary during limited vacation time. Turns out Costa Rica has all kinds of extreme rafting, rapelling, and zip lining that I missed out on; great sail fishing there by the way.
Overall, I’d say the Professional Bachelor is a highly recommended read. Only negative, at 300 pages the editor should have trimmed it down, and tightened up the text a bunch; 250 pages would have been just right.
This is written for guys who are already players, and written as an intellectual’s satire. If your sense of humor is limited, if you’re a newbie who hasn’t dated dozens of women and witnessed their highly volatile nature, or if you haven’t viewed advanced financial structuring, this book may go way over your head (as seen in some of the reviews). But as far as a bachelor’s manual, it is a totally unique treatise and on it’s own level…something you’ll re-read often, and will stand the test of time.
For you PUA junkies, The Professional Bachelor is probably more useful in conjunction with a book on creating openings and initial contact with women…so consider picking up The Mystery Method: How to Get Beautiful Women Into Bed .
Also, get Tate’s hilarious new memoir about his insane lifestyle living overseas. The title says it all. He just nails it with this book. Sex-drenched adventures filled with erotic photography and biting observation humor, with a cast of animated, flamboyant characters who push each other to edge and beyond.

Really like this one. Very deep pickup advice for self-improvement, creating sub-conscious attraction, controlled persuasion in pickups and handling relationships. The book has tons of attitude advice for establishing an emotional attraction right out of the gate. Extensive explanations on creating an instant rapport through use of alpha confidence, a sense of humor, and displaying a healthy indifference; ie, not showing neediness or early aggressive physical escalation, not obsessing over your date’s comments or actions. Girls make a decision about you in the first few minutes and this stuff needs to go down smooth.
He shows how to create the necessary comfort zone in every interaction with conversation influence techniques that are a must to memorize. Similar to Robert Cialdini`s work; the goal is to stay low key and be playful, be a good listener, turn around questions and get her to speak, selling herself to you instead of vice versa…this is far more successful than being adversarial, overly opinionated or showing insecure gamesmanship. (Wish I knew this stuff in my early twenties!).
His detailed insight into all the different personalities and their quirks and desires is almost spooky it`s so accurate. He takes apart each style of personality, and shows how to recognize the ones with the healthy traits of that personality style, and how to recognize the unhealthy ones to avoid…then explains seduction tailored for each type, and they vary a great deal. Good stuff to know, and all of it is written like standup comedy, which makes it big fun to read. Like most guys, I’ve dated half of them and can’t believe how many things I missed that are now obvious.
Tate has obviously seen and done it all so many times, knows psychology like the back of his hand, and never gets manipulated for one second. The advice has tons of tips all over that help you to stay one step ahead and keep your attractiveness levels high. More importantly, it keeps you from wasting time and money like so many guys do, pursuing the wrong type with a clashing personality and different desires. It arms you with the right questions and things to observe to see if the woman you want is a good match.
The asset protection advice is something I definitely need to look in to. I must have ten close friends who were dragged through an expensive divorce; all of them could have changed the outcome of their life if they had utilized the shelters in this book before they were engaged. The writing is ironic, intuitive and cynical, but always entertaining.

I wouldn’t include this in the group of PUA how-to guides like Mystery Method or Layguide because it cover a lot more ground than those two books. The Professional Bachelor Dating Guide’s scope covers far more than just how to meet women. In the author’s view, that’s the somewhat easy part. It’s the how to deal with women after you’ve bedded them that makes this book so much different than the rest.
So what else does it cover? How to protect you assets, how to deal with crazy women, where to go on vacation to meet and bang women. I can totally see some people not liking the way the writer views women and even I winced a few times, but I got over it. There are some real nuggets of wisdom that may not make an immediate impact to your life as a Player, but will help you overall keep your life from spinning out of control because of women.
It could be better written and maybe there will be a second edition some day that cleans things up, but it’s truly a unique book with a different perspective that’s love it or hate it. I bought one of the author’s other books called The Hedonist which is much more focused on the subject of bedding women around the world. I recommend that book as well if you plan on doing any international travel.
Overall, I recommend this book to any single guy or divorced guy who wants to better understand female psychology and how you can work it to your advantage.

Great advice. Anyone who’s studied psychology or marketing will recognize the content and like how he’s tailored it towards dating. Underneath all the witty shock value, you learn how to make yourself more physically and intellectually attractive and create a subconscious emotional connection. It improves your influence and persuasion skills with women and its application would be as useful in business.
Other themes; speed seduction via psychology (showing social status and willingness to walk), how to protect yourself emotionally and financially from ever being manipulated again. There’s a very detailed psychological profiling of the female mind. It shows how to read women and better understand what makes each of a dozen different personalities tick. Determine her personality type and then tailor your approach to create sexual chemistry and steer her emotions in the encounter. You’ll recognize ex-girlfriends personalities described to the T and immediately see where you went right or wrong.
Women all size up men. They have years of practice at it between chick lit, The View, Oprah, and their 10,000 hours of yapping away with each other dissecting men they date. This book levels the playing field for men.
If you’re in your early 20′s, a lot of this will seem rough around the edges and may not yet apply in your life (unless you’re hunting cougars). It’s never too early to learn. If you’re 30+, you’ve been around long enough to recognize exactly what he is writing about. We all know guys stuck in a life sucking relationship, had a friend get rolled in a divorce when it was her fault and he still pays out the nose. This book advises how to steer clear of the dark side of women and their entitlement mentality that has become so common, particularly among the early 30′s and/or divorced women. Most importantly, it shows you how to legally seal away your assets and not get destroyed in a divorce.
The writing is funny and crude but a brutally honest perspective. I found myself constantly laughing and agreeing with what he says with great observation humor. A highly entertaining and interesting read. For lighter reading, pick up his other book that just came out. For photo-journalism it’s the funniest, wildest, raunchiest memoir I’ve ever read.

A very intuitive and funny guide for persuasion and influence techniques with women in new relationships. Also a complete alpha handbook for speed seduction in prowling the singles scene. 300 pages of material, and filled with hilarious observation humor. Fascinating psychoanalytical analysis for understanding what makes each female personality tick; marketing advice to appeal to each styles wants and needs.
Self-improvement tips for internal focus, making yourself more attractive to women. Approaches; an attitude primer and conversation guide (reframe problems into positives, avoid questions – make light, descriptive statements that create emotions – elicit further conversation – create comfort zone). Tailored for seducing any personality. Too many sections to list; even has an in-depth guide for setting up asset protection pre-marriage.
His points are purposely provocative and tongue and cheek; but it is light reading, and he is usually spot on in telling it like it is. Numerous highlighted and underlined sections to read again.
