There are many health issues prevailing among human population all over the world today. Among all ailments, increasing the number of people suffering cardiac arrest, a heart attack is increasing day by day. According to survey by WHO, heart attack is the leading cause of death among people, especially in case of men. Highly stressed, sedimentary life style, hectic working hours, improper diet habits and low physical workouts are the prime reasons of increased number of men falling to heart diseases at relatively younger stage of life.

A cholesterol level determines risk for heart diseases. Cholesterol and triglycerides are two forms of lipid, or fat. Both cholesterol and triglycerides are necessary for life itself. Cholesterol is necessary, among other things, for building cell membranes and for making several essential hormones. Triglycerides Cholesterol, which is chains of high-energy fatty acids, provides much of the energy needed for cells to function. When your cholesterol levels reach a peak level, you risk become at risk for heart attacks, stroke, and other disease caused by clogged arteries. When high levels of LDL cholesterol stick to the walls of your arteries, your risk of clotting increases. It is your duty to make sure you can keep the level of this cholesterol down.

LDL, or so called “bad cholesterol” is the substance in your body that transports fat to the rest of the body. So question arises, How to lower LDL cholesterol?  There is answer. Exercise!! Exercise is not only good for losing weight, but moderate amounts of it may help lower your cholesterol levels –- especially your “bad” cholesterol. Aerobic exercises, such as running, cycling, jogging, and swimming, appear to benefit cholesterol the most by lowering LDL by 5% to 10%. Other forms of exercise, such as yoga, walking and weight-bearing exercises, have also been shown to decrease LDL levels. However, these forms of exercise have not been as extensively studied as aerobic exercise. Quitting of smoking, abstinence from fat adding foods & switching to fat lowering food such as fruits, fibrous recipes give a good solution.

Surprisingly, slightly increasing the alcohol intake can also have good, positive effects on lowering the bad Cholesterol levels. It can also lower LDL by about 4% to 8%. Moderate consumption means one drink a day for women, and one to two drinks per day for men. A typical serving of alcohol includes 12 ounces of beer or 5 ounces of wine. However, drinking more alcohol doesn’t necessarily equal better results in terms of improving your heart health.
