I am very knowledgeable in science and religion of all kinds although I am by no means a scientist or theologian. I can not stop believing I keep reverting right back to theism please help me. Is there like a good Atheist Bible? Like a self-help book to remind yourself there is no God even in times of trouble and happiness?
dsanchez Zeitgeist is one of the reasons I CANT stay an Atheist very long!!! Zeitgeist is full of so many lies and historical lies.
Atheists please help me with my delusion?

No… your own honesty should be enough, you have no experience of God existing. God is a projection of our ego.

Why stop believing? Do what you feel you should do. I ask for proof of the supernatural almost daily. No response. I don’t sweat it.

It’d be nice to have a book or some aid to help push you on days you go back to believing in fairy tales…
I’d find some local fellow atheists to help you in a bit of a ‘friend circle’ and look for volunteer work (it helps me)
Think of examples of why Christianity (and other religions, I’m just assuming Christianity since you said Bible) is wrong due to it’s hypocritical believes, contradicting passages and all the murders in the Bible. Also, ask yourself ‘How could something so ‘big’ create itself?’
Also, feel free to e-mail me. alyson_alive@yahoo.com
I like to talk to fellow atheists for support.
Try to have a religious person prove their religion to you. It won’t work.

The fool says in his heart there is no God. If there was no God no one would even be here debating him. Those of us who have experienced the love of Jesus simply know what we know. And it’s sad that many are unable to receive that gift due to lack of faith,

There is no such thing as an Atheist’s Bible, trust your intuition in what feels right and then the answers will start to flow. There are many websites, so , when you have a question type it in, you will be surprised what info is out there.

Just remember every time you needed help and the “god” so many believe in didn’t bother to be there for you, he doesn’t exist and you have realized that. Hoping that there is a god out there is false hope that will in the end do nothing for you. Your fortunate to have come to this realization, take advantage of that.

If its in your psychological make up or conditioning to do so then by all means believe for yourself and with like minded people. So long as you aren’t imposing it on others who don’t share such beliefs its your call. I honestly can’t understand how its believable to people myself. It doesn’t even need some deep theological discussion to me to find the belief implausible. There is no real evidence for the supernatural claims that I have seen nor do they seem to fit what evidence we do have to me.

If you aren’t being sarcastic…
Some of the recent books written by the so-called “New Atheist” authors may be helpful. I recommend The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Dawkins approaches the existence or nonexistence of God from a scientific perspective examining the evidence and coming to the most likely conclusions based on them.
Once you understand that there is a complete and total lack of evidence for a deity of any kind, you will not have to remind yourself of the nonexistence of God anymore than you have to remind yourself of the nonexistence of Thor or unicorns.

In your case “The God Dellusion” is the perfect cure. It’s a book and its on dvd.
Try also “Zeitgeist” part 1, maybe “The God Who Wasn’t There”, all very informative and very entertainingly told.
I’m not saying these things will “convert” you to atheism, but isn’t it good that you are willing to look at things from multiple points of view?
Keep an open mind and don’t let anybody convert you unless you’re sure. Whatever way that may be

If your belief doesn’t cause any harm, who cares? Don’t worry about it. If it is causing you or anyone else harm, you may want to find a good therapist who can help you come to terms with your belief system. If you wind up believing and it makes you happy, great! If you wind up not believing and that makes you happy, that’s great too! Don’t worry about it. Oh, and there is no such thing as an atheist “Bible” but there are several good books written by atheists (some that may sarcastically call themselves a “Bible”) that may help you understand the atheist position a little better.

use your knowledge of science to search for god. if you really have a good understanding you will immediately realize that you can’t.
if there is no evidence of a god, then why believe? do you do it because it makes you feel better? is that really a good reason to believe? because of a feeling.
