How much money is appropriate to give a high school senior as a graduation present?

My husband’s little brother is graduating high school Friday. We wanted to give him a gift card to Best Buy so he’ll have some money to maybe go get a laptop or something. I know other people will be giving him money too. Is $50 too little? Should we go for the full $100? We don’t really have a lot of money, but I can probably spare $100 for him.
